Description

Red Sandalwood comes from tropical Africa. Its wood is valued for its rich red colour and is more resistant and more dense than white sandalwood.

It is used in decorative cosmetics to intensify cool red tones and shine thanks to its astringent properties. Red sandalwood exudes light violet reflections which soften warm copper tones.

Application:

When the powder is used in its purest form, the hair strands are given a delicate, almost transparent, pinkish-violet reflection.
Red sandalwood is best mixed with henna (Lawsonia), hibiscus, madder or alkanet to maintain cool red shades - this is also the case when it comes to grey hair.

Note:

It is not recommended to use red sandalwood powder in its pure form. It hardly contains mucilage and thus gives rise to a rather inhomogeneous paste which is extremely difficult to apply. It is therefore recommended to use the powder only as an additive, or colour corrector.

How much red sandalwood powder should be added to 100g of henna to enhance the red tone?

  With Sandalo Rosso (red sandalwood) you can get a more reddish reflection out of the orange henna, but alone it may not be enough. For 100 g of Henna we recommend 10 g of Sandalo Rosso and 30 g of Robbia

  Alternatively , you can use Rosso Ciliegia, a mixture alread blended to give a less orange red.

  The best way to get a full red would be to firstly apply the Rosso Ciliegia and then to apply 50% Rosso Ciliegia + 50% Robbia.
