Why Ecco Verde?
Ecco Verde is defined by a clear, consistent commitment to natural cosmetics. This focus determines how the product range is curated. Products are never added automatically; instead, every item undergoes careful review to ensure it satisfies strict natural cosmetics criteria.
There are two pathways for a product to be included in the natural cosmetics selection:
- Recognised natural cosmetics certification: Holding a natural cosmetics certification recognised by Ecco Verde satisfies a key requirement for inclusion. Full details on accepted certifications, such as NATRUE, COSMOS standards, Demeter, and EU Organic, can be found on the Natural Cosmetics Certificates page.
- Ingredient review: Not every product on Ecco Verde holds an official certification. If a product is uncertified, the listed ingredients (INCIs) are checked against internal ingredient standards, which are aligned with recognised natural cosmetics guidelines.
If an uncertified product does not meet these criteria, it will not be added to the natural cosmetics range, regardless of how popular or well-known the brand is.
If the formulation of a listed product changes, it is re-evaluated to ensure it continues to meet these standards.
This uncompromising dedication to natural cosmetics is what the Ecco Verde name represents.
Natural cosmetics for every need
Modern natural cosmetics offer a vast selection of skincare and beauty products. Depending on the product, formulations feature ingredients such as botanical oils or raw materials of natural origin. Select products also contain ingredients sourced from certified organic farming.

Certified - or carefully checked by our team
A large portion of the products available on Ecco Verde carry a natural cosmetics certificate. However, why aren't all products certified?
Obtaining official certification requires significant time and financial investment. As a result, smaller brands and family-run businesses often opt not to pursue certification, even though their formulas meet our criteria for selection.
For this reason, the absence of a seal does not mean a product enters the range unchecked. Uncertified items simply undergo the detailed ingredient review outlined in point 2.
What about brands with a mixed product range?
Certain manufacturers produce both natural and conventional cosmetics. In these instances, products are assessed on an individual basis.
From brands with mixed ranges, only items that hold a recognised natural cosmetics certification or whose ingredients satisfy the criteria are selected for Ecco Verde.
However, primary focus is always given to brands whose overall range is fully or primarily dedicated to natural cosmetics.
